What the hotel says

The Silver Suite page calls it a 773-square-foot luxury suite, with a king-size bed and a spacious lounge area designed for both comfort and entertaining. The photo captions are more useful than the text. They show a bedroom, a bathroom with a freestanding tub, a walk-in shower, a living area, a couch with a TV and a bar area.

The page does not state the maximum occupancy, whether the sofa converts into a bed, or what is stocked in the bar area. Those are the three questions to ask before booking it for a group.

When it is worth the step up

Before the show. A suite gives a small group somewhere to meet that is not a crowded bar. If four or five friends are going to the same concert and only two are staying, the lounge is where everyone gathers before doors. Hotel rules on visitors and gatherings are not published, so ask.

After the show. A freestanding tub after three hours on your feet is a real argument. So is a separate lounge if one person wants to sleep and the other wants to go through the photos from the night.

For a longer stay. On a two-night weekend the extra floor space matters more than on a single night.

When it is not

If you are two people with one show and an early start, the Deluxe King covers what you need. The suite's extra room is wasted on a night when you come back at midnight and leave at nine.

Silver or Gold?

The Gold Suite is 825 square feet, 52 more than the Silver, and the hotel describes it as a corner suite. Its captions add a seating area and a bathroom with both a freestanding tub and a shower. If a corner position matters to you, choose Gold; if not, the difference in floor area is small. The hotel does not say how many of its 22 suites are Silver and how many Gold, so availability on a busy night can decide for you.

Select “Silver Suite” in the form below and tell us the date and the occasion. The desk will ask the hotel about occupancy, visitors and the bar setup on your behalf.
