Location, honestly

The Albion Road area

This is not a neighbourhood hotel. It is a destination property on the southern edge of the city, and the useful things around it are an airport and two train stations.

Where exactly

The hotel's address is 4837 Albion Road, Ottawa, K1X 1A3. Google Maps lists it under Gloucester, the former municipality that was amalgamated into the City of Ottawa in 2001. Wikipedia places the old raceway on the outskirts of Ottawa in Gloucester Township, and travel listings describe the area as Ottawa's rural south end. All three point to the same thing: open land on the map, and long distances to anything you would walk to.

On the property itself

The site is large. Besides the hotel, the hall and the casino, the hotel's entertainment page mentions outdoor attractions on the property — the Capital Fair, Highland Games and seasonal fireworks — without dates. The same page still mentions live harness racing, but the operator announced in April 2026 that the racing programme was ending; see our history page. If an outdoor event is the reason for your trip, confirm it directly with the hotel.

What this means for your stay

  • Plan to eat on site. Five places to eat are listed, one of them open around the clock; anything else means a drive.
  • Bring what you need. The only shop the hotel lists is the Rock Shop, which sells Hard Rock merchandise and lottery tickets.
  • Think about the car. With a car, the airport and downtown are easy. Without one, the shuttle and the O-Train work, with gaps.
