Responsible gambling
We are a hotel guide, not a gambling site, but the hotel shares a building with a casino. If gambling has stopped being fun for you or someone close to you, here is where to go.
Talk to someone now
ConnexOntario runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and connects people with mental health, addictions and gambling support services in Ontario. Call 1-866-531-2600 or text CONNEX to 247247. It is free and confidential.
Self-exclusion
OLG runs a self-exclusion programme called My PlayBreak. It bars you from all Ontario casinos for a term you choose: 3 months, 6 months, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years. PlaySmart Centres at Ontario casinos can explain the process. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the regulator, requires operators to refuse entry to people taking part in self-exclusion.
The age rule
In Ontario, the minimum age to enter a casino is 19, set by the regulator. At Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa the rule covers the whole property: hotel, restaurants, casino and Hard Rock LIVE.
Signs worth taking seriously
- Spending more time or money than you planned, again and again.
- Borrowing, or using money meant for bills, to keep going.
- Chasing losses, or hiding how much you spend from people close to you.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down.
Our position
This site does not promote gambling, does not link to online gambling and does not earn anything from the casino. Our commission comes only from hotel bookings. If you are going to Hard Rock Ottawa for a show, the casino is something you walk past.
