Since July 2025 the old Rideau Carleton site on Albion Road has had 150 hotel rooms under the same roof as a 1,900-seat concert hall. This guide is about one thing: getting a good night there when you came for the show.

The short version

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa sits at 4837 Albion Road, in the rural south end of the city, a short drive from the airport and roughly twenty kilometres by road from Parliament Hill. Hard Rock announced the opening of the hotel on 3 July 2025 and described the $350 million project as Canada's first fully integrated Hard Rock resort. The hotel has 150 rooms, 22 of them suites. On the same property are Hard Rock LIVE, a 23,000-square-foot hall that seats up to 1,900 people, a smaller room called The Joint, five places to eat, three bars, a 24-hour gym and a casino floor that never closes.

The reason to stay here is simple. If you drive in for a show, you also drive out afterwards, at the same moment as everyone else who drove in, and the city centre is twenty-odd minutes away. If your room is in the same building, the night ends with a lift ride. That is the whole idea behind this site, and it is why we wrote about the rooms, the hall, dinner before doors and the morning after more than about anything else.

It is not a resort for everyone. The whole property is 19+, so it does not work for a family trip with teenagers. No pool and no spa appear anywhere on the hotel's own pages. And if your weekend is mostly about the ByWard Market and the Rideau Canal, a downtown hotel will save you the drive. We say this up front because a booking that does not fit helps nobody, including us.

A show night, seen from one of the rooms

  1. Afternoon — arrive and park The hotel does not publish its check-in time, so ask for it when you request a room. Valet runs 24/7; two EV chargers sit on site, one of them in front of the hotel. Details on parking and the shuttle.
  2. Around 5 PM — dinner Council Oak Steaks & Seafood opens at 5 PM from Wednesday to Saturday and lists a Pre-Show Prix Fixe menu. Brick'd and YOUYU also start at 5 PM on most nights. Our dining page has every published hour.
  3. 6 to 7:30 PM — doors Most Hard Rock LIVE listings for autumn and winter 2026–27 open doors between 6 and 7:30 PM. The show calendar lists them with the doors time the venue prints.
  4. Late — after the encore On Fridays and Saturdays Hard Rock Cafe runs an after-hours menu from 10 PM to 1 AM, YOUYU serves until 1 AM every night, and Constant Grind never closes. Then it is upstairs, not out to the car.
  5. Morning — slow start Hard Rock Cafe serves from 7 AM and Council Oak does a Sunday brunch from 10 AM to 3 PM. The Ottawa weekend plan picks up from there.

What we could check and what we could not

Every number on this site comes from a page we read between 23 and 29 October 2026, mostly the hotel's own pages at casino.hardrock.com. Some things the hotel simply does not publish: check-in and check-out times, the pet fee, how many of the 150 rooms are kings and how many are queens, and the terms for self-parking. Where that is the case we say so instead of guessing, and the desk asks the hotel for you when you send a request.
