Hard Rock LIVE, from the room upstairs
The concert hall is the reason this hotel exists in its current form. Here is what the venue publishes about it, and how the night changes when your bed is a short walk away.
The hall in numbers
Hard Rock LIVE is described by the venue as a 23,000-square-foot multi-use room inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, with flexible seating for up to 1,900 guests and a maximum capacity of 2,200. The same page says it can hold seated banquets for up to 800. The hotel's event booking page gives a different banquet figure for the same room, 935, alongside a cocktail capacity of 2,200. We print both because both are on official pages; if you are planning a banquet, the event team's proposal is what counts.
The flexible seating explains why listings look so different from one another. A comedy night can be fully seated; a rock show may have standing room on the floor. The listing on the venue site, or the ticket page it links to, tells you which.

Two notes from reading the ticket policy. First, a rescheduled show is not a cancelled one: the April Wine date moved from 28 November 2026 to 22 January 2027, and in a case like that the policy points you to the organiser's decision on refunds. Second, the hotel room and the ticket are separate purchases. If a show moves, ask the desk early about moving the room as well — the hotel's own change and cancellation terms apply to the room, and we pass on whatever the hotel tells us.
The Joint, the smaller room
The Joint is the property's second venue, listed for groups and live performances from 25 to 400 people. The venue suggests it for concerts, comedy, sports viewing parties, team building and private parties. The event booking page gives it 4,700 square feet, 150 for a banquet and 400 for a cocktail format. It is 19+ like everything else on site.
What changes when you stay on site
- No exit queue After the encore, everyone who drove in heads for their cars at the same moment. Hotel guests walk the other way.
- No designated driver Nobody in your group has to skip the drinks for the drive home. Please still drink sensibly; the bars close and the hallway does not get shorter.
- Coats and bags In winter, leaving the parka in the room is worth more than it sounds.
- Dinner without a deadline Eat at 5 PM, rest in the room, walk to doors. Or skip the queue at the café and eat after the show on a Friday or Saturday.
- A slow morning Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe from 7 AM, or Sunday brunch at Council Oak from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Where to sit, where to stand
The venue does not publish a seating plan on its own page; the plan appears in the ticketing flow for each show. Our only advice is general: for a seated show, aisle seats make the walk back to the hotel quicker; for a standing floor, arrive near doors and decide whether you want to be close or comfortable. Bring government photo ID either way.
