Accessibility

Two parts: what the hotel says about accessibility, and what we have done to make this site usable.

The hotel

The operator, HR Ottawa, L.P., publishes an accessibility page under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). It links to an accessible customer service policy, an accessibility policy, a multi-year accessibility plan and an accessible feedback process, and says it will provide documents and information in accessible formats on request. The hotel's FAQ adds that the property complies with the Ontario Building Code's accessibility requirements and the AODA standards.

What the hotel does not publish is a description of accessible room types — how many there are, which categories, and what features they have. If you need specific features, describe them in your room request and the desk will put the question to the hotel. For feedback on accessible service at the property, use the contact details on the hotel's accessibility page.

This website

  • Text and background colours are chosen for strong contrast on a dark theme.
  • Every page has a skip link, one main heading and a logical heading order.
  • Forms have visible labels, large fields and plain error messages.
  • Images have text alternatives; the map on the front page loads only when you press the button.
  • Most of the site works without scripts; the map button and sending the form use a small one.

If something on this site is hard to use, email [email protected] and tell us the page and the problem.
