The casino floor, in plain facts
This is a hotel guide, so this page is short and neutral. You will walk past the casino floor on the way to dinner and the show; here is what it is and the rules that come with it.
What it is
The casino is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The venue says it is the only casino in the City of Ottawa and lists more than 1,500 slot machines and table games such as blackjack, craps, roulette and baccarat, plus a baccarat room it marks as new. Hard Rock's opening announcement in July 2025 mentioned 40 live-action table games and high-limit areas. No reservation is needed to enter.
The casino is operated by Hard Rock International and governed by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). Casinos in Ontario are regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Age and identification
The minimum age is 19, as it is for the hotel and the restaurants. The hotel's FAQ lists the government photo ID it accepts: driver's licence, passport, citizenship ID, Ontario Photo Card, US state ID, Canadian permanent resident card, resident alien ID, Certificate of Indian Status, military ID and firearms acquisition card. Guests under 21 may be asked for two pieces of ID.
Loyalty membership
Unity by Hard Rock is the property's loyalty programme. It matters to hotel guests for practical reasons that have nothing to do with the casino: Unity tiers lower the valet price and the shuttle fare. Details are on the parking page.
Help, limits and self-exclusion
If gambling stops being fun, help is free and confidential. ConnexOntario answers 24 hours a day at 1-866-531-2600, or by text: CONNEX to 247247. OLG runs a self-exclusion programme, My PlayBreak, for terms from three months to five years, and PlaySmart centres at Ontario casinos. Our responsible gambling page has more detail and links.
This site does not promote gambling, does not take bets and does not link to any online gambling service. We cover the casino only because it shares a building with the hotel.
