Wild scenes at Fort Point in San Francisco as the surfer uses rock to destroy the expensive boarders’ craft in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge, “Fro, what? Why are they doing this? “
The iconic surf movie franchise keeps the legend alive!
Here’s a rumor, and a very good one, from a source lingering there in a shadow-haunted hallway very close to the action, tearing the hem of the recent negotiations between the WSL and Drive-thru directors Greg Browning, Taylor Steele, Donavon Frankenreiter and Benji Weatherley.
Drive-thru was an early 2000 movie franchise that put five surfers in an RV and filmed their adventures over the course of two weeks to a month. It peaked in the first episode, a month in a van traveling through California, and hit a nadir in the last, Drive-Thru Australia.
Numerous limbs riddled with wounds oozing with pus, cords of dried semen looping on chins, the musical lapping of droppings in bowls etc.
Good times for the participants and for the viewers.
Its recent reboot, we’re told, met with an offer to buy from the WSL.
Lots of important dates. All systems disappear, as they say.
And then, at the very end of the last meeting, with papers ready to sign, Benji Weatherley, still so funny and too good to see at nearly fifty years old said: “Well, it’s not like anyone is watching WSL anyway.”
A very good joke and clearly a joke for a quick search on SimilarWeb (a website that tracks internet traffic) reveals that the WSL is almost half the size of the surf news giant BeachGrit.
But no laughter from the WSL leaders, apparently.
They want to move forward with the project but not with Benji.
Greg Browning moves in, fights for Benji who is, let’s face it, the heartbeat magic that defines the franchise, and, ultimately, the WSL says yes.
But, first, Benji must agree to special conditions.
WSL CEO Erik “Elo” Logan sends Benji a list of things he can’t do on the show.
Benji, very allegedly etc., sends Logan a photo of a penis.
And that was it!
According to our source,
âThe next day, FUEL TV called, made an offer to the boys⦠And let’s go to the races!
The first movie is a doozy, starring Dane, Kelly, Griff, Donnie, Benji, Parker Coffin.
Trailer coming soon!
