‘Tram surfer’ waves to passing cars as he risks his life to ride between Metrolink cars
This is when a “streetcar surfer” greets passing motorists as he risks his life to hitchhike between Metrolink cars.
The shocking footage was recorded in downtown Rochdale on Friday.
Metrolink bosses have criticized the “incredibly dangerous behavior” and urged potential imitators to “stop for a moment and consider their loved ones.”
Mobile phone video, recorded by a passing car passenger, shows the streetcar as it drives up Drake Street.

After a while, a bearded man is seen sitting on the team between the two cars.
The footage comes the day after the film of a man hanging in the back of a bus in Leigh.
Kate Green, Travelsafe Partnership Manager at Transport for Greater Manchester, said: “Over the past 24 hours we have seen footage of people ‘walking’ outside local bus and tram services.
“It goes without saying that this is incredibly dangerous behavior that could result in serious injury or death to a person.
“Although they may have a complete disregard for their own lives, I would ask them to pause for a moment and consider their loved ones, who would be left to face the devastating consequences if anything went wrong.
“We are working with the police and operators in response to these incidents and I encourage people to be reasonable if they see something similar happening.
“Rather than filming it and posting it on social media, please alert a staff member or the police, because if we find out, we can do something about it then.”
