NFL legend and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady made a surprise appearance, via video link, at the Dutch boatbuilder Wajer announced its latest luxury yacht in the Netherlands last week. And confirmed that he will be one of the first to take delivery of the new 77-foot offshore vessel.
“I enjoyed the New England waters, but when we moved to Tampa, with its beautiful bay, I was like, ‘I need a boat, ”Brady told attendees. “I love what (Wajer’s Managing Director) Dries Wajer is doing. When we started working together I got to try out a Wajer 38, then got my Wajer 55S, and now I can’t wait to continue my “ captain ” on a Wajer 77 … what Dries tells me that I will arrive before the end of the year. ”
Buccaneer Brady skippered his $ 2 million Wajer 55S during the Super Bowl celebration water parade in Tampa after the team won in February. And the most famous made a superb pass completing the heavy Lombardi Trophy from the stern of his boat to the bow of the boat that his teammate and rapper Rob Gronkowski was on board. But we can understand his enthusiasm and impatience when it comes to the new Wajer 77.
Wajer’s chief executive Dries Wajer said the new 77-foot build was a response to customer demands for a vessel that went beyond daytime sailing and within certain oceanic capacities. “We have spent years developing the Wajer 77 with leaders like Sinot Yacht Architecture and Van Oossanen Naval Architects,” he said during the announcement. “But we are moving quickly on this project because, frankly, we were able to sell the concept very early on. We have already sold more than 15. “
The live prototype of the construction of the Wajer 77 is doubled “The world is not enough;” not only the name of the 1999 Bond movie, but also the motto of the James Bond family from the Sir Ian Fleming novels. And there is a certain international secret agent mystique in the ship, of course.

Significantly longer and more radiant than the previous Wajer 55 flagship, while the new 77 also rises higher from the waterline, its lines are low, swept back and elegantly aggressive. Some Q Branch-worthy tech includes a self-calibrating anchor that calculates the length of chain needed, a hybrid fender system that can quickly inflate / deflate the bumpers for easier storage, an under-deck temperature system water-cooled so your bare feet don’t get too hot; and an automatic wheelhouse roof that can expand, contract and lift up to allow more airflow in the cockpit.

The cabin becomes a hotel: the vast Master Suite halfway through the yacht Wajer 77.

Accommodation includes a 16 foot, 5 inch wide Master Suite amidships, a junior suite with a double bed and a port side cabin with a queen bed and a single bed. All suites have their own sinks and showers. A crew cabin can accommodate two people. Expect a fully-equipped kitchen and an below-deck work area, and expect everything to come with a mix of modern, light and dark woods on a glossy white minimalist interior design approach than anything else. luxury hotel would envy (and 7 feet to 7 feet 9 inches of headroom that other boaters will envy).

Just like at home, afloat: the ship’s galley is accessible via a residential-style ramp staircase, which … [+]

The estimable cabin amenities bring new capabilities to the Wajer lineup, but life aboard a Wajer is all about the outdoors. Spacious circular deck seats, bow deck sun pads, large sofas and an alfresco dining area aft provide sufficient relaxation for large groups of passengers. And expect ample storage for seabobs, electric surfboards, snorkeling with kitesurfing gear, and more to join the Williams 325 Jet Tender for outboard water fun.

Down to Water’s Edge: Split teak aft stairwells lead to a large wraparound beach club platform.

“I have kids and we all love being on the water. We spent Christmas and New Year’s Eve aboard our Wajer; everyone loves it, ”Brady continued. “The 55S is an amazing boat, and it’s been amazing for our family. I think the 77 will be a bit more suited to what we need here which is a few day trips and extra weekends. We spend a lot of time in the Bahamas. I want to give my family some great weekend memories. ”
Brady said he plans to call his new yacht Wajer 77 “Viva a Vida”, the same name as his current Wajer 55S. It is not known whether he will put his 55-foot vessel on the market or whether he will pilot both boats. But, the Brady 55S would make a hell of a piece of sports memorabilia to collect!
