NEW YORK, April 07, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Readers of Questex’s Luxury Travel Advisor voted The Shore Club Turks and Caicos as “the most Instagrammable hotel in the world” for 2022.

Luxury Travel Advisor holds an annual parenthesis-style tournament in honor of “March Madness” in which 64 hotels from around the world compete to win the title of “the most Instagrammable hotel in the world”. Hotels were able to nominate themselves to participate; the editorial team of Luxury Travel Advisor then selected 64 hotels, divided them into regions and randomly paired them to form the bracket.

Voting was then opened to Luxury Travel AdvisorThe readership of and the hotel with the most votes after each round shifted into high gear to face its new competition. A total of six ballots were needed to name the champion.

The Shore Club Turks and Caicos, located on Long Bay Beach, Providenciales, beat Wildwaters Lodge, located on a private island in the middle of the Nile in Uganda, in the final round obtaining 51.42% of the vote. In total, over 145,000 people voted in the round (the split being 74,637 in favor of the Shore Club and 70,509 for Wildwaters Lodge). By winning this year’s contest (its fifth edition), The Shore Club became the first repeat champion. Other participants in the semi-finals included Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and the NH Collection New York Madison Avenue hotel in New York.

“The Luxury Travel Advisor the readership has spoken. Shore Club’s Colonnade Pool Swings are clearly the top choice among travelers when it comes to creating viral photographs – and even more impressive is the feat of winning the crown in consecutive years,” said Matt Turner, editor, Luxury Travel Advisor. “We thank our community for participating in this program and offer our congratulations to the Shore Club Turks and Caicos.”

About the hotels

The Shore Club Resort infuses Caribbean charm throughout the property and is equally suited to adventurous kitesurfers and relaxing sunbathers. From grand suites with ocean views, four pools, and the Dune Spa, the resort offers a private beach house feel. Dining venues include Peruvian-Japanese and Southern Comfort with a Caribbean twist, while Rope Bar cocktails and mocktails set the stage for energizing evenings under the stars.

Owned and operated by Lemala Authentic Camps and Lodges, Wildwaters Lodge was renovated in May 2021 with new accommodations, healthy dining options and guest experiences. The private island resort has 10 suites overlooking the Nile and offers a range of activities from rafting to horse riding. Wildwaters Lodge is a conservation centerpiece aimed at protecting the river environment, in part by ensuring that local communities directly benefit from lodge visitors and the protection of the heavily forested islands of the Nile.
