River Run RV Park is a new venture forming at the entrance to Cosi
A new motorhome fleet is under construction at Cosmopolis and its owners are already planning further improvements. The River Run RV Park – along Highway 101 at the western entrance to town – will feature 56 RV sites, each 38 feet long, and offer options for varying lengths of stay.
Owner Kellie Daniels said the building nearing completion on the property will now be the clubhouse, “which is going to have a laundromat and shower room for men and women, a small office, a small store and a small shop. She said they were also building a small residence in the clubhouse, “We’re going to get a couple to run the RV park and then live there.”
She has already received a lot of questions about the new construction and inquiries about reservations for the new spaces, Daniels said, and they are hoping a ribbon cut will coincide with July 4. They see three different groups of RV owners interested in the space, she said: “People who only need a few nights through or people who want to stay a few weeks or people who want to stay for an extended stay. “She adds,” we will have slightly different rules for people who wish to stay longer. “
Daniels and her husband Corey bought and remodeled the location of the Peterbilt store around 2010, adding the D4 Sports Apparel building a few years later. They own and operate D4 Sports and lease the space to Peterbilt. They bought the two adjoining lots next to them from the town of Cosmopolis and have spent the last five years working to convert them into a RV station.
Daniels said she was proud that, “for the most part, we employ all of the Grays Harbor workers, family jobs and Grays Harbor businesses. It is therefore a local project with local businesses, small businesses, local entrepreneurs. Our construction company builds the park, and then we partnered with Timberland Bank for the financing. “
She also thanked the city of Cosmopolis, the mayor and city staff for their help in making the new park possible. “They were absolutely fabulous working with them and I couldn’t imagine being in another city. They are so accommodating and they are so excited for us. They are (also) excited to see this end of Cosmopolis see some major improvements. “
“The Daniels have been a boon to Cosmopolis since the first mention of setting up their facilities on the outskirts of our city limits,” said Mayor Kyle Pauley. “When they first approached the city with their intention to create the River Run RV Park, we were able to work with them to build their vision. Knowing that everything they do is so methodically planned around what’s best for Grays Harbor, we have no worries. I look forward to the completion of the park, and knowing Kellie and Corey, the start of the next project they’ve committed to.
Daniels said they also plan to expand access to the Basich Trail, which runs behind the park and connects Mill Creek in Cosmopolis to the Bishop Sports Complex in Aberdeen to access miles of paved trails. Other future projects include a new “Welcome to Cosmopolis” sign at the corner of the Peterbilt property.
