Blue Ridge promotes Axel Steuernagel and Martin Wirsing
The American consultancy firm Blue Ridge Partners has promoted two of its seniors in Germany to the level of managing director.
Axel Steuernagel has been with Blue Ridge Partners since early 2019, having held management positions at two fashion e-commerce companies in Eastern Europe (one of which he founded and has over 200 employees before leaving in 2015). Earlier in his career, Steuernagel worked for Bertelsmann and the B2B market pioneer Mondus at the turn of the century.
In the meantime, he worked for global strategy consulting firm McKinsey & Company, focusing on marketing and sales engagements with clients in the consumer goods producer and logistics industries.
At Blue Ridge Partners, a 100-person consulting firm specializing in revenue growth with two offices in Europe (London and Frankfurt), Steuernagel advises clients on the development of growth, marketing and sales strategies as well than on digital transformation.
Martin Wirsing joined Blue Ridge Partners in 2018, having spent more than a decade in the industry. Previously he held several management positions at Deutsche Telekom, made sports equipment manufacturer Hiss-Tec / CORE Kiteboarding one of the main players in the segment as General Manager.
Wirsing also has considerable consulting experience to his credit. He spent three years in marketing and strategy consulting at Simon-Kucher & Partners in Bonn, Boston and Paris, and most recently was Managing Director of Lanzada, a boutique that advises clients on growth strategy and execution.
At Blue Ridge Partners, Wirsing serves clients across Europe in the areas of growth strategy, business transformation, sales and marketing effectiveness, pricing and business due diligence.
“We are delighted to welcome Axel and Martin to our European management team,” said Jim Corey, Company Founder and Managing Partner.
Other managing directors based in Europe include Uwe Doerken (former CEO and Chairman of DHL and consultant at McKinsey & Company), Vincent Schuller (former Head of MENA Due Diligence at Deloitte), Moti Shahani (formerly McKinsey and previously Vice -President Strategic Planning at American Express) and Anthony Lucas (former partner of Accenture and PwC).
