Best Professional Kitesurfing in St. Pete
ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — If you’ve always wanted to learn to kitesurf, now is your chance! Best professional kitesurfing teaches advanced and beginner courses in a fun and safe environment.
“It’s actually one of the fastest growing water sports here in the US .. and because of that it’s become very popular,” said Drew Christianson, owner of Best Pro Kiteboarding.
For the past ten years, this water sports company has given kitesurfing lessons to young children up to 70 years old. Classes are held at Skyway Beach, right next to the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
“St. Pete is actually the sports mecca,” Christianson said. “It is one of the best places to learn to kite.”
Beginner classes start with a two hour session, and 3-6 hours of beginner classes are recommended before moving on to advanced classes.
Beginners will learn how to set up the equipment, how to fly the one-handed and two-handed kite, launch and land safely, and what to do in an emergency. From there, they will learn how to get on the board as well as tips for riding and gliding.
Lessons are available for all ages as long as the rider weighs at least 90 pounds. Group lessons start at $ 70 / hour for two people or $ 60 / hour for three people. To find out more about course options and prices, Click here.
